Maxime J.M. Verhagen
Maxime J.M. Verhagen (1956) was appointed Minister of Foreign Affaires in 2007.
After finalising his studies in history he worked in different capacities for the Christian Democratic Alliance (CDA). From 1989 to 1994 he was member of the European Parliament of the European Union. He was then elected to the House of Representatives in The Netherlands, becoming leader of the Christian Democratic Alliance in 2002.
